Bullshit Championship Series Time
Now, it's always been universally known that some pencil necked geek or some fat fuck is sitting in front of the computer around Myles Brand's dungeon at NCAA HQ. In fact, it's pretty much who you curse when you decide to curse the system and want to switch to a playoff system. Or at least hope that Bob Knight does the right thing and chokes the old fuck for firing him at Indiana...
So, here's the top four colleges for the major two bowls, so far. And another reason we might be considering a playoff. The NAIA does it. Why can't you, NCAA?
1. Texas Longhorns - So far, this team is the number one in the nation and in the Big XII South with Oklahoma State. Which means they'll face the eventual winner of the Big XII North, which is looking like either Kansas or Missouri. Strong team, strong defense. Oh, and they've got one of the best QBs this season in Colt McCoy. How good is he? 190.76 rating good. And this week, they face Oklahoma State. And it again, is at Texas Memorial. If they beat the Cowboys, They've got another good one to face with Tech. An easy one with Baylor. Then at Kansas, and onto the Aggies. This is the team to watch.
2. Alabama Crimson Tide - The shaky Number Two. And shaky because of the games that Alabama has played. As Tennessee person, I'm not a fan of Alabama at all, but I can say this. Nick Saban's results have been instant. Although, not without a bit of nervousness. As most got to see, they almost blew it against Ole Miss. And no, Alabama fans, they didn't hold the Rebels to anything. They almost blew it. And let's face it, they gave the Big 10 a huge chance to argue the point. But the schedule doesn't look bad for you. Got the 3rd Saturday in October coming up with a pathetic looking Vols. Arkansas State isn't giving you problems. LSU is your only trouble team. In other to legitimatize your rank, Tide... You better knock these teams out.
The above teams will be playing for the FedEx BCS Championship Bowl at the, as Lamar Thomas called it, the OB. Except it's not at the original OB, more like Dolphins Stadium... Fuck, my head hurts. So, onto the next 2.
3. The Pennsylvania State Nittany Lions - Long name, but deserved in a way for the longest tenured head coach in one job, Mr. Joe Paterno. And even as disrespectful as we can get, he's Mr. Paterno to you readers, got it? Good. JoePa has been winning without a flashy defense, a flashy offense, a contract, or names on the jerseys. In other words, JoePa is old school. The NitLions will face The Ohio State University at the Horseshoe. But there's a difference between sweater vest Tressel and JoePa. About 36 years and a lot of undefeated seasons in that time frame, difference. This isn't JoePa's first dance at the 'Shoe. Another team you need to watch, and might be your number 1, if Alabama keeps screwing around and Texas doesn't win at Oklahoma State.
4. Oklahoma Sooners - Let's settle this. Don't like them, never have and never will. But since the Shootout happened, they have been playing harder. However, Bradford is playing with a purpose. He knows he blew his chances at the Heisman. Big time. He now has to hope for a Colt slip-up and a miracle to win that. However, the schedule helps a bit. At Kansas State for this next game. Then they get the weakened Huskers. Then Texas A&M. The last two games, though, are the killers. Texas Tech at Oklahoma Memorial. And then... The cross state shootout, Bedlam. Bedlam can and will shape the top four in the BCS, people. And it's the last game of the season for both.
If these teams hold up, they'll play at the Tostitos Fiesta Bowl at the University of Phoenix Stadium at Glendale, Arizona. Which will bring about controversity, as it always does.
So, that's the top 4, if the rest of the Bastards want to get the other six... We'll have a party, won't we?
