When It Rains, It Pours
That sounds funny just to type- Gameplan to stop The Cardinals. Who uses a gameplan to stop The Cardinals? Well, after their stomping on The Panthers, Im sure the winner of the Giants/Eagles game will make the necessary preparations to at least show up and compete.
The Panthers just arent a consistent team, no matter how impressive their 2008-2009 win-loss record looked. Jake Delhomme is a mediocre quarterback that started believing the hype that he was the next Brett Favre; news flash: he isnt. The Panthers defensive unit as a whole, as talented as they are and can be, are just as inconsistent- for as many great plays they (read: Julius Peppers) make, they make that many more terrible.
Now that the Panthers season is over, what to do? If I had that answer, Id probably be on a payroll somewhere. I honestly dont know. But something has to happen. The Panthers are a very talented team (although shaky in some positions like the aforementioned quarterback), but talent doesnt necessitate consistent play. Some moves are definitely in need. Which ones, I dont know but hopefully the Pantherss front office will know.
One thing I do know is that The Panthers should be happy for the rain. Again, how else will they mask their tears?
