I mean, don't these baseball card companies look at these items before they're printed? And I would think that the player and his agent would have had to approve it first too. But shows what I know.

This reminds me of the yearbook entry my cousin's son submitted last year under "Senior Memories":

"Friends Under Couches, Kind
Young Oldies Umbrellas, JJ."*

My stepdaughter's boyfriend is in charge of sales for the yearbook company. I showed him the entry and asked him how the company let that one get in. He said that they don't proofread the entries, that's the responsibility of the school. I told him that my thinking was that even though the school is submitting the content, the final product is the company's responsibility. After all, when people see stuff like that, their first thought (like mine) is usually "How did that slip by the editing process? Why didn't the yearbook company catch that?"

I'm assuming that the same logic would apply to trading card companies.
*for those of you who need a hint, read only the capitalized letters.

What I want to know is how, after 17 years, card companies still haven't realized that GREY is not an attractive color for a card. I also have my own contribution to the Billy Ripken "Fuck Stick" club (I always heard it referred to as the "Fuck Stick Card." Back in 1991 Upper Deck released a Frank Thomas rookie card that showed him flipping someone off.

And let's not forget the C-3PO boner card! It has nothing to do with this topic, but we should still never forget it.
