Sorry, Titans fans. It looks like Vince Young is officially the next Eddie George. I hope you enjoyed watching him scramble and win last year, because this year he’s going to break something horribly and watch from the sidelines. Sorry about your luck (and his stupidity).

I do have one interesting thought, however. If you put the cover of Madden 2008 on the cover of Sports Illustrated, would that make coverboy VY10 immune to the Madden Curse, because the SI cover jinx would wipe it out? Or would this, in fact, compound the Madden Curse to the point where VY would be hit by a car being driven by Pacman Jones? Which voodoo is more powerful in this case?

These are the thoughts that keep me up at night.

If he truly is the 'next Eddie George' it means the following is true...

He will guide the Titans to the playoffs and at a critical juncture in said playoff game, his turnover will end the Titans' season just as Eddie's career was all but ended when he coughed up the catch that Ray Lewis took to the house ending Tenn-e-kee's season.

Oh yeah, this also confirms Vince will be on the 'upper echelon' with Peyton, Brady and Vick of Madden folk. Vince will more than likely be played with more than Vick on account of the fact that Vince has a much better arm than Vick.

The only thing that can cancel out the dreaded Madded Cover curse is the even more dreaded Chunky Soup curse, which has not only taken down Michael Strahan, Matt Hasselbeck and Kurt Warner, it ended Ben Rothlesberger's season before it even started in 2005 (supposedly he was on his way to film the ad when he had his motorcycle accident). It has turned Donovan McNabb's career into a train wreck and now threatens to derail the entire Pittsburgh Steelers team.
