Divisional Playoff Picks

Personally I was 3-1 in my playoff picks for the first week, but we're a little behind here at SB. So, for Official Bastard Bragging Rights (OBBR).

You'll find the SB crew's (at least the ones I surveyed) picks below. Add your own in comments and I'll edit them into the post. Then we'll see who now through the Super Bowl comes out on Top. And we'll come up with a tie-breaker for Super Bowl XLI.

AFC
New England Patriots vs. San Diego Chargers
Jaime Sue: That team that isn't the New England Patriots that Jaime Sue won't mention. (Ron Edited in the correct name above for that team.)
Ron: New England Patriots
Rich: The SupahChargers
Jade: Patriots
Len: Patriots
Spinler: Chargers win 21-20 with Gostkowski missing a potentially winning field goal late, making all Pats fans wish they had Vinateri still.

Baltimore Ravens vs. Indianapolis Colts
Jaime Sue: Indianapolis Colts
Ron: Baltimore Colts Ravens
Rich: Baltimore. Peyton will get bent into positions that Kenny Chesney didn't think of.
Jade: Baltimore
Len: Ravens
Spinler: Ravens 24-17 over the Colts.

NFC
New Orleans Saints v. Philadelphia Eagles
Jaime Sue: As much as I love the Eagles, I have to pick the Saints.
Ron: Philly, Jeff Garcia is playing too well and the Saints have never even sniffed the playoffs.
Rich: Saints - God's team vs. God's team?!! Sorry Philly, I hope Jeff keeps the starter job, but let the Saints march to the Championship game.
Jade: Eagles
Len: Saints
Spinler: Saints 42-24 over the Eagles.

Chicago Bears v. Seattle Seahawks

Jaime Sue: Chicago Bears
Ron: Da Bears, but only if Hurricane Ditka doesn't show up.
Rich: Bears - Bye Seacunts. Don't let Urlacher hurt you too bad and don't let Hester burn you too bad. Da Bears win!
Jade: Bears
Len: Bears
Spinler: Bears win 9-7 with Brian Griese leading the Bears to the winning FG late after Grossman throws a pick-6 to Seattle.

I say the winner of the Baltimore/ Indy game gets to keep the Colts name. Maybe Peyton can win a SB for the Indianapolis Ravens. ;)

Oh, yeah, here's my picks:

Patriots in a squeaker--you can't beat LT, you can't only hope to contain him, but I think that Rivers kid can be beat.

Baltimore (Colts) Ravens--Peyton is going to be seeing Ray Lewis in his dreams after this game.

Eagles have actually managed to outdo the Saints in the "Cinderella/feel-good story" category, so I've got to pick them--plus we saw last year what Reggie Bush is capable of in a playoff game.

Da Bears--Seattle was lucky that Dallas out-imploded them last game. Even if Rex the Wonder Boy manages to completely fuck up, I think Chicago can still pull it off.

Ravens- I think that D is meaner than a
pitbull who hasn't eaten in weeks. And
I shouldn't have to mention how soft Peyton gets when A) he's not having all
day to pick his receivers and B) his receivers are getting jammed up and aren't able to get his passes.

Saints- Even though I'm sticking to what I said about this story coming to a halt soon, I want Philly to be shown the door. They were lucky to win the division and simply put, it's time to go home.

Bears- Because simply put, Seattle's all but lucky to be here for two reasons. A) The NFC West blows. B) If
it hadn't been for Romo blowing the hold, Dallas is alive to see another day and possibly the NFC Championship this year.

Game of the Week- ??? I'll hold off on
this one...

Len you going to pick the New England game winner?

Posted by Jaime Sue at 01/11/07 19:39:27

Alright, let's say it nicely for all, shall we?

New England vs. San Diego - In the name of great justice and Tony Gwynn. The SupahChargers get this one..

Indy vs. Baltimore (Winner becomes the Colts) - Baltimore. Peyton will get bent into positions that Kenny Chesney didn't think of.

Saints vs. Iggles - God's team vs. God's team?!! Sorry Philly, I hope Jeff keeps the starter job, but let the Saints march to the Championship game.

Bears vs. Seahawks - Bye Seacunts. Don't let Urlacher hurt you too bad and don't let Hester burn you too bad. Da Bears win!

Game of the week - Pats vs. SuperChargers. It'll be an LT show.

I guess I'll throw in my picks with the rest of ya...

Pats vs. Chargers:
I really like the Chargers on this one. I know it is unwise to pick against Belichick in the playoffs, but there is just too much LT to handle and Tom Brady doesn't have anybody to throw the ball to. Chargers win 21-20 with Gostkowski missing a potentially winning field goal late, making all Pats fans wish they had Vinateri still.

Colts vs. Ravens:
The leagues best offense against the leagues best defense. Defense prevails in this one. Ravens 24-17 over the Colts.

Saints vs. Eagles:
Drew Brees throws for 400 yards and the Saints finally figure out how to stop someone. Plus, Garcia is due for a bad game. Saints 42-24 over the Eagles.

Bears vs. Seahawks:
The game that doesn't mean anything. The Bears can't win with Grossman at the helm in the playoffs and the Seahawks should be at home watching this game on TV if Romo didn't try to shove the ball down his throat last week. In the most boring game of the week, Bears win 9-7 with Greise leading the Bears to the winning FG late after Grossman throws a pick-6 to Seattle.

I take the Pats. I'd like to root for Marty to finally overcome his demons and stick it to these Brownies...but I haven't seen a team this dominant since
the Niners of the 80s. Besides, I can't root against the guy who has my birthday. Leos 4 Life damnit. :P
