An open letter to the AOL Fanhouse--NCAA Basketball edition
I see by your webpage that you lack a blogger for the University of Kentucky Wildcats. As a lifelong Wildcats fan and sports-type blogger, I think I'd fit the bill perfectly for this vacancy (hell, I'd even be willing to sell out and take the U of Louisville blog spot if I absolutely had to).
Now the question remains: do I actually have qualifications to do something like this? Well, probably not, but here goes nothing.
I've been writing on the Internet for 8 years now. I started out on wrestling websites (including the website that now proclaims itself as Europe's #1 wrestling opinion website) and moved on to movie reviews for the website LivingCorpse.com, amongst others. But being in equal parts a Renaissance man, funny fat guy, and redneck, I had to take my snark and surprising intelligence to my current gig, SportsBastards.com.
I graduated from college with a B.A. in English composition and a minor in psychology, where I spent my senior year work study assignment in the concession stand at the basketball games or in front of a grill for soccer (no football at my school, just futbol). I wrote for Random Wrestling/Wrestling Opinions/DDT Digest for a year, roughly. Ive reviewed movies for LivingCorpse.com for 3 years. Ive written for and edited SportsBastards.com for 3 months or so now, where Ive gotten praise from everyone from Dan Shanoff to The Mighty MJD.
If you want to check out my stuff, Id really appreciate it. If not, well, thats okay, too. Im sure you all get a ton of OMG let me blog 4 u dudez emails, so I understand if you cant/dont reply. Whoever does get the UK Basketblog spot better be good, though, otherwise Ill be seriously disappointed.
Cheers,
Ron

That's MY application for one of the many, many open spots on AOL's Fanhouse. Why don't you guys apply, too? Critic, Rich, I'm looking at you two.
